Pastor Search

Posted on December 7, 2011 - Filed Under |

At our Annual meeting we will introduce our plans for Senior Pastor Search Committee.  The congregation will be engaged in helping to determine those people with consideration to bylaw requirements.  We plan on annoucing  the start of  information gathering for the creation of this Committee and the profile at our Annual Meeting on January 15, 2012 after worship.  After we receive the questionaire’s back we will better know who will be called to be on this committee and a timetable for announcing and affirming the members.

Per the bylaws

3. Pastoral Search Committee for an Associate Minister.  If the Church is seeking an associate minister, a Pastoral Search Committee consisting of at least nine lay members shall be appointed by the Council after receiving recommendations from the Board of Nominations, with the understanding that the nominees have consented to serve.  The Senior Minister shall also be a member of this committee.  In order to include as great a representation as possible on this committee, no more than one person living in the same household shall be a member.  After the committee has interviewed all selected candidates for the position, a two-thirds affirmative vote of the total membership of the committee is required to recommend a candidate to the Council.

“Crossing the Jordan Team” for Vision/Strategies is to be established in early 2012 and will be critical to providing the Pastor Search Committee what they need to complete the FCC profile.
