We are committed to loving and serving our neighbors, offering our time and financial support in the following ways:
Kalamazoo Drop-In Child Care Center (KDCCC)
KDCCC was founded by members of First Congregational Church in 1990, and remains housed in the church. Free childcare is offered five days a week for low-income parents. KDCCC also offers parent education classes. http://www.kdccc.org/
Deacons’ Fund
This fund offers financial assistance to low-income families and individuals for emergency needs. The church honors requests on Monday mornings on a first-come, first-served basis.
Martha’s Table
Martha’s Table, a ministry supported by several area churches and hosted at First Congregational, provides worship and a meal every Sunday afternoon for people who have no physical or spiritual home. The goal is to provide an intimate environment for people of different life experiences and to build stronger relationships.
Arcadia Elementary School
In partnership with Arcadia educators and staff, we provide math and reading tutors as well as noon-hour mentors to children at the school. The purpose is to develop relationships with the children and provide caring adult role models.
