We are passionate about Music at First Congregational!

ChaCMM_20091108_0501 copyncel Choir – Dr. Graeme Cowen – Director
Chancel Choir meets most Thursdays from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. from September to early June. We are sing all types of music from chant to Bach, Mozart to comptemporary, Spirituals to compositions by our own resident composer, our director Dr.Graeme Cowen. People of all vocal abilities are welcome and you needn’t make a whole year commitment to sing with us.

Bell Choir – Helene Stuurwold – Director
Sleigh bells, jingle bells, church bells, who doesn’t like bells!  How about trying to ring some bells with us?  The FCC bellchoir, called the New Song Ringers, currently meets right after Sunday service for about 45 minutes.  We practice, laugh, enjoy each other, and make beautiful music with handbells.  All ages are welcome in this choir. Can’t read music?  No problem!  Our director has a special ability to help you ring with color-coded music until you can learn to play the notes.  If you have any questions, or doubts about your ability to try ringing, please speak with our director, Helene Stuurwold.  She doesn’t often take “no” for an answer!

Other Musicians
Do you play guitar, saxophone, piano, cello, violin, flute or some other instrument? Musicians not involved in the above programs regularly share their talents during Sunday worship. Please contact Graeme if you are interested.
