175th Anniversary
Posted on April 30, 2010 - Filed Under Uncategorized |
Events related to celebrating our 175 years in Downtown Kalamazoo since June 6th, 1835. Our theme for this year is Learning from the past, Engaging in the present and Committing to the future. Opportunities in the first part of the year, leading up to the June 6th anniversary, are focused on retelling our history. We will focus on engaging and committing after June 6th.
Coming Up - “Rejoice & Renew Weekend”
Friday June 4th 5-8pm “Recreate”
Art Hop Night at FCC with FCC artists, jazz music, snacks and time to meet our pastor from the 80’s, Rev. Dudne Breeze, who was pastor when we celebrated our 150th in 1985. Bring your friends and neighbors.
Saturday June 5th 7pm “Renew Evening”
Inspirational music and speakers prepare us for our 175th celebration. Rev. Dudne Breeze, Edith Guffey and Pastor Matt help get us ready for our next 175 years. This opportunity connects you with our past, our local church community and our nationally extended church family.
Sunday June 6th 10am “Rejoice”
Our exact birth date back in 1835! Our choir along with soloists and KSO instrumentalists will present the Vivaldi - “Gloria”. Pastor Matt will preach and Edith and Dudne will join us in worship. We will follow up this special day with a semi-catered luncheon. Please sign up outside the office so we can appropriately prepare.
